Thinking of You! - Sketchy Thursday Challange 1.21

This is my layout for the "Sketchy Thursdays Challange 1.21".

Wow, I have to say that this simple looking layout was, ALOT of work and very time consuming!  I actually can not believe it! The title, images of children and the tree in the bottom right corner were all stamped on first.  I then distressed all the card stock by sanding, then I sponged it with a brown and a gold pigment ink.  I even went as far as to sponge onto the ribbon, flower and button to get them to blend into a monocromatic look. Yes, I know what your thinking, I must be nuts and I totall agree!  I will be going to work tomorrow with brown and gold fingers! Wish me luck!

Who Am I - Post seven

This is certainly a blast from way in the past, maybe 1990!

These along with mannnnny more were taken by a guy I used to work with. He was a avid photographer and asked me if he could take pictures of me for his portfolio. I was probably very naive at the time, but he was very sweet, and supplied me with more photo's of myself than you can imagine!

I can honestly tell my kids I modeled when I was young, I don't have to tell them it was only for a few days!

I won blog candy!!! at Creations By KW !

This is the great blog candy I won over at Creations by KW!

Thank You So Much Karen!

Who Am I - Post six

This layout of of my 1997 wedding at the Luperon Beach Resort in Dominican Republic.

We were married in a white gazebo on the beach, we accompanied by my husbands brother & sister-in-law, as well as 4 good friends. When we returned home we had a reception in a hall with our wedding playing on a large TV so everyone who wished could watch.

This is another original design for me! This is the first time I made my own flowers, which I am very happy with, and also the first time I used rhinestone swirls. I continued with the layered look and some simple hearts stamped in the back ground!

Who Am I - Post five

This is post 5 of my book dedicated to my life’s journey, here you will find Photo's of my husband and I pre marriage. The top layout is a formal photo taken at the wedding of my husband’s brother, we had the privilege of standing up for two wonderful people that day as the pledge their love for each other! The bottom layout shows photo's in a span of about 4 years I suppose. It is in the photo where I am wearing the wet suite you can see some of the weight I have gained is starting to creep on.

http://noelmignonchallenge.blogspot.com/ has a challenge right now called the "Something New" Challenge. I am submitting these layouts as my something new, and I will list what makes them "Something New";

- I have never used a 9x9 book before

- I have never used the Close to My Heart

"Simple Snapshot" album pages before

- Creating a book dedicated to "Me" is defiantly New

- Facing my weight issues in a pictorial and

in a public form on line is defiantly New

- Me in 2010 - I am working on a New improved me

So I believe with all the things listed these layouts, and all the others in the "Who am I" series most defiantly fit into this challenge! They are not my most creative work, but they are my most honest work!

Wish me luck!

Memories - For Just Buggin Contest "All About Pets"

When I was looking thru Karens Blog today I was drawn in by a contest she entered and was in the top 3 (Congrat's Karen). I loved her card and followed the link to the site "Just Buggin" and was quite taken by it. So I decided to try the current contest "All About Pet's"! Again I tried a new type of layout; I have wanted to try the swirls out for some time. I purchased the Cricut Cartridge "Home Decor" a few months ago specifically for the swirls.

In this particular layout I used the Cricut "Home Decor" Cartridge for the background flowers, the swirls and the word Memories.  The paper has all be distressed and various layering techniques have been used with the paper and all other elements.  Pearls of 3 different sizes have been used for accenting.  My daughter wants this in her special book.

Who Am I - Post four

My 2nd Career Choice was Rogers Communications!  I worked there in various positions from 1989 until 2002!  It was an interesting journey that is for sure. The first picture is of a float Rogers put in the Santa Claus Parade in 1990 and the second is of a Halloween Dance I attended with a group of friends in the same year!  The top pin is my 5 year service pin form Rogers.  The bottom pin is from the school I attended from Kindergarten till grade 7 (back then High school started in grade 8).  I consider myself fortunate, I attended 3 schools: Grade School, High School, & College.  My husband being an army bratt, attended more schools than you can imagine!
